On Sunday I made tiramisu the easy way. Just used Kahlua and coffee (ok, this was from real beans, not instant) and sugar for the soak. Sponge fingers from the store. Mascarpone whipped with thickened cream and Kahlua. Basically, you soak the fingers in the syrup and place a row in a lunch box, then add the layer of cream. I did three layers, then sprinkled cocoa over the top. It was into the fridge overnight. You just can't eat it right there and then, it doesn't have all the right texture.
The other photo is a fig I got on the weekend from New Farm. It was enormous! And so delicious. I really like the pinkness inside and all the weird curly seeds. I like dried figs too. I like fig jam!
