Free book

My mate at work went to a writer's workshop and they all got given some presents. He decided to hand on to me a novel called Frangipani by Celestine Hitiura Vaite - about a stubborn mother and her stubborn daughter. It is hot pink! It was not really his kind of reading.
In other news, I have reached the bottom of the page of my gift register. This is a page in my agenda where I write every trifle of a thing someone has given me. If they bring me a fun size Mars Bar, it still goes on there. Sometimes in life we can forget that in a whole year we have actually received, for free and unasked, a good deal of things. I have been given anything from model horses, flowers, croissants and artworks this year. For most of them I wrote a thank you card, reviving that old art. The thank you cards were a gift too!
