Lin Onus

A while back it came under discussion about an Aboriginal artist who painted stingrays and was well known for the depiction of a dingo riding atop the popular Japanese image of a tsunami:
I could not recall the name until this morning when I was browsing through the Village News and came across an ad for Fireworks Gallery, listing him as a represented artist. I love that, "That's it!" moment. So I've just had a quick look at Google images for his work. If there is something marvellous about living in the future, the way my 10 year old self would never have envisaged, is that we have these virtual galleries or retrospectives simply by searching on artist name. I don't have to have a shower, get changed, put my shoes on and trot to the library.... and certainly if the library didn't have Lin Onus, I wouldn't have to wait the few days or weeks for them to order it in.
Here it is. Lin Onus. On screen, firing my synapses.
Sadly Lin Onus died in 1996, aged 47.
